Hug a Nurse (You’ll Heal Better)

This month we celebrate National Nurses Week. It is the week of May 6-12th (Florence Nightingale’s birthday). The International Council of Nurses established May 12th as International Nurses Day in 1974. In 1994 National Nurses Week was born, each year focusing on a different theme around Nurses, their contributions, and acknowledgments. This year’s theme is “Our Nurses. Our Future”.

If you have ever been to a doctor’s office, hospital, or care facility, you already know the nurses run the show. Nurses are the backbone of the medical field, often doing so much with very little. To be a nurse takes a special person. One who is willing to go the extra mile for the patient. Nursing is a calling, as well as a highly specialized profession, not just an occupation.

If you know a nurse, take this time to let them know that they are appreciated, and of course, needed.

If your loved one is in need of nursing care, BoB Homecare is here to help.
