Diabetes

November is Diabetes Awareness Month. This is one of our population’s biggest health risk factors, that affects millions of people worldwide. Diabetics are faced with a host of ailments, including stroke, heart disease, blindness, and kidney failure. The primary goal of Diabetes Awareness Month is to educate the public about diabetes prevention, management, and the impact it has on individuals and communities. During the month the emphasis will be on public education, fundraising, screening and testing, advocacy, and support. This is an opportunity for people to come together to address the challenges of diabetes and promote a healthier lifestyle. It serves as a reminder of the importance of early detection, management, and support for those living with diabetes, as well as the need for continued research into this widespread health issue.
