HIV/AIDS Awareness Month
December is the month to bring attention to the HIV virus, to increase knowledge, to speak out against the stigma, and to educate the public on HIV prevention as well as living with the virus.
The first World AIDS Day took place in 1988, and today various organizations are still working hard to tackle this disease. We have come a long way in both educating the public in ways to avoid the virus, as well as advances in treating the virus. HIV is no longer a death sentence. The continued education and medical research and developments is essential to combat this disease.
